Rural Special Schools will hold our Open House for the 2021-22 school year on Tuesday, August 10 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19, the drive thru format for Open House will be used again this fall in the high school parking lot. Rural Special is also offering a digital learning program for the 2021-22 school year. However, the program is for students, or family members of students, who either: 1.) have a documented medical condition resulting in a compromised immune system or: 2) students that have shown prior success in an online learning program. The digital learning program will be conducted by contracted entities outside of the Rural Special schools and no Rural Special or MVSD teachers will be involved in the digital learning program. Thanks to RS PTO and a surplus of supplies, our school supply list is short. K-12 needs ear buds, a backpack, and 2 boxes of Kleenex. K-1 needs two hand writing tablets. K-6 needs a supply box, and 4th-6th needs a zipper binder. HS Art students need a sketch pad. Hope you're having a great summer. School starts August 16th.

Echo Mitchell from RSHS wins gold at the FCCLA National Convention in Nashville. Echo competed in Repurpose and Redesign representing Rural Special and the Mtn View School District.

Rural Special high school had a great time at the electives fair. Teachers did a wonderful job creating their displays and “pitching” their classes and clubs. Thank you parents for joining us as we begin planning for Fall 2021.

We want to send a Congratulations to Abbey Linville on signing with NorthArk today. We are so proud of you. Good luck next year as you dominate as a Lady Pioneer.

On behalf of the Rural Special Senior Girls, we want to thank Senator Missy Irvin and her colleagues for recognizing our 1A Girls State Champions and for allowing our girls the opportunity to experience government in action. Their hospitality at the State Capital and the Senate Chambers will be an experience our girls will never forget.

The ACT Aspire testing that was to begin tomorrow across the Mountain View School District has been postponed from tomorrow until Monday, April 12. The Mountain View School District will provide meals for students over Spring Break and can be picked up at the regular times and places on Friday, March 19. Mt. View Elementary from 9-11:30, Mt View Middle and High School at the teardrop from 9-11:30, Timbo from 1-3 PM And Rural Special from 1:30-2:30.

Rural Special schools will not be in session today so that students and staff may attend the Semi Final game of the state tournament vs Viola. The game will be played at 10 am at Greers Ferry West Side. This day will be made up on June 9th.
